Naissance d’IBMA France : les fabricants d’intrants biologiques fondent leur association

L’association internationale IBMA, créée en 1995, regroupe 140 firmes fabriquant, recherchant ou distribuant des produits biologiques de protection des plantes dans le monde. Son but est d’organiser, moraliser, défendre et promouvoir l’activité de ses membres. Elle a créé des groupes professionnels et des groupes de travail (« problèmes réglementaires et éthiques », « standards et qualité », « promotion »). En 1999, treize sociétés viennent de créer IBMA France qui poursuit les mêmes buts à l’échelle de la France en adaptant objectifs et activités aux spécificités du pays. Une manifestation « Viti-Oeno 2000 » est prévue à Montpellier l’an prochain. IBMA, the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association, created in 1995, and currently counting 140 member companies, all involved in the manufacture, research or distribution of biological plant protection products in the world. The objectives of the association are to organise, present, defend and promote the work of its members. Specific professional working groups have been set up by the association, dealing with themes such as « legislative and ethical problems », « standards and quality », and « promotion ». In 1999, 13 French companies have decided to follow their lead by founding IBMA France. The objectives are the same, but deployed at national rather than international level, focusing on specific features of France. A special event, entitled « Viti-Œno 2000 » is planned for next year in Montpellier.
